Decorative Christmas Crafts for Every Room of Your Home

In the Bathroom - you can put a string of lights around the mirror, a window or even around a cabinet. Attach some greenery on the strands of lights by cutting some strips of homespun material or pretty holiday ribbon and tying them on.

Set a candle on a small plate with some little pieces of evergreen, pine cones or cranberries. Put a basket or wooden bowl on the top of the toilet tank. Fill it with a few pine cones, cinnamon sticks, orange or lemon peels. It leaves a wonderful scent for the holidays.

Add a few ornaments or ribbons on each shower ring or on a window curtain rod. You can put a few ornaments or pine cones in an apothecary jar, add a ribbon around the top of the jar and add a sprig of evergreen.

For Bedrooms - a garland on the headboard always looks nice. You can add some lights by tying them on with some ribbon. A table top tree is always cute on a dresser or night stand. So are some candles in votive cups laid on a few evergreen boughs.

You can dress it up a little more by taking some nice Christmas material and make a dresser scarf or cover a few square pillows with the material. Just cover with a square piece of material bringing the four corners to meet in the center of the pillow. Stick in a rhinestone or holiday pin to hold material together. It's a nice touch on your bed.

Candles in different shapes, sizes and colors look so nice on a window sill. Of course make sure they are not near any curtains. Always make sure you are in the room when burning any candles.

In the Kitchen - it is always easy to decorate objects that are all ready there. Such as a crock, bowl, pitcher, measuring cups or even on canisters. Just adding bows, evergreen or some candy canes to things, give it a very festive look.

On the kitchen table you can have a vase or a pitcher with greens and poinsettias or real flowers. A bowl, basket or even a clay pot lined with a holiday napkin and filled with some ornaments, fruit or goodies, will make a nice centerpiece. A bowl of oranges with whole cloves stuck in them and a few cranberries added to it. Set on a doily or Christmas place mat. Core out a few apples and put a votive in each one, set on a plate and add some greenery.

A small tree with lights and mini kitchen utensils or cookie cutters hung with ribbon looks good in the kitchen. On a window sill you can put some graters with votive candles underneath. The glow through the holes is just beautiful. Or put a few egg cups on the window sill with a candle in each. Add a bow on each cup.

In the Living Room - on a coffee or side table set a wooden bowl with Styrofoam balls of different sizes wrapped with strips of Christmas material around them. Or spray some Styrofoam balls in glue and dip in some white beads to make snowballs for a bowl.

On the window sill put some old wooden blocks to spell out Merry Christmas or Happy Holidays. Put a few small Santa's or snowmen on the sill with some small evergreen trees. Hang some snowflakes in your windows, or a few ornaments hanging down with some ribbon or raffia.

Set out a large basket or wooden bow of old toys. A etch a sketch, pail of wooden blocks, tinker toys or an old coloring or paper doll book. These also look cute under your Christmas tree.

Put a few old Christmas books together on a table. Set on a doily or some Christmas material. Old books can be found at thrift stores very reasonably. Some old fashion looking Christmas material looks nice covering a photo album to enjoy during the holiday season.

Super stuff. I did crafts for many years, until my eyes got so bad. Plus, it seems I can't find the time.

I have two children (ages 7 & 4) and we have been so happy with the Kids Craft of the Month Club! Each month they send you craft kits toy your home. You get to spend quality time with your child rather than running around trying to find all of the things you need to do a craft. We have been so happy!!

Thank you for the great ideas for Christmas. Since it isn't my favorite time of year it helps when I start to decorate, and these new ideas will give me some inspiration.

Very creative ideas! I have a fireplace with a wooden mantel this year, and I'm really looking forward to decorating it for Christmas. I really like the idea of putting lights around a mirror. I can imagine doing that as well as the other great ideas you suggested. Well done!
