Holiday Victorian Cones
Supplies:
- Paper mache cone
- Modge Podge
- Clear glaze
- Glue gun and glue sticks
- Decoupage Victorian sticker
- Small paint brush
- Burgundy acrylic paint
- 1/2 yard thin burgundy ribbon
- Green dried florals
- Burgundy, white and gold dried florals
- Mini pine cones
- Yarn needle
- Sponge brush
- Scissors
Directions:
- Lay the cone with the pointy end up on a covered work area. Paint the outside and rim of the cone burgundy. Let dry.
- Paint the back of the Victorian sticker with Modge Podge using the sponge brush. Place the sticker centered on the front of the cone. Brush a light layer Modge Podge on the front of the Victorian sticker.
- Carefully dab the front of the picture with a slightly damp sponge. This will help to ensure the sticker is free of air bubbles. Let dry.
- Paint a coat of clear varnish over the entire outside of the cone. This will help seal and secure the Victorian picture to the cone.
- Thread the ribbon on the yarn needle. Pierce through the top, side of the cone. When you get to the end of the ribbon, tie it into a knot. Pierce through the other side of the cone. Tie this end of the ribbon into a knot. Trim ends. This is the hanger for your Victorian cone.
- Glue the greenery inside the cone. Glue the highest piece at the top, center of the cone. Glue a piece of greenery at each end of the cone. The three pieces should form a triangle shape. Fill in the cone using these three pieces as a guide.
- Evenly glue the dried florals and pine cones throughout the arrangement.
