Researchers point out that almost 60,000 women are diagnosed with breast cancer in Germany each year. The American Cancer Society reports as of 2010 there were 207,090 cases of invasive breast cancer in American women. The aim of the study was to determine if certain activities and behaviors could or could not decrease the risk.
Researchers discovered the most prominent cause of breast cancer was from post-menopausal hormone replacement therapy (HRT). Almost 20% of the women in the study had fallen into that group. Thirteen percent of cases were do to insufficient exercise. Although, there was some overlap in the groups, combining the two had shown an outcome of 30% of all breast cancer cases.
The two common risk factors for cancer and disease, obesity and alcohol consumption were also examined. Nevertheless, the findings had revealed more cases of cancer were due to HRT and lack of exercise more than anything else.
Researchers state that the two largest elements in breast cancer lay in the hands of women. Regular exercise along with other health areas such as nutrition, decrease many other risks not just breast cancer.
Hormone replacement therapy is not recommended unless it is deemed to be necessary
HRT does carry serious risks such as:
Breast Cancer
Stroke
Hypertension
There are some natural treatments noted to use instead of HRT. These treatments include:
Acupuncture/Acupressure
When acupressure is used it can balance hormone production and decrease hot flashes. Acupuncture can decrease numerous menopausal symptoms such as hot flashes, heavy bleeding, back pain and headaches. The effects last for around three months after treatments end.
Chiropractic
Chiropractic aides in restoring the bodies ability to heal and balance. Additional therapies used in chiropractic medicine can aide in decreased discomforts of menopause and help the body strengthen and support itself later on in life.
Many women who endure cramping also suffer spinal issues such as back pain. Gynecological issues occur due to the subluxations in the association between the spine, lower back and female anatomy. Scientific studies has shown this association to exist. This is why a large number of women who receive chiropractic treatments for their back pain report beneficial effects from cramps and other gynecological issues.
Homeopathic
Homeopathic practitioners select and administer remedies based on each individual woman as to her symptoms in whole, physical, mental and emotional state.
Practitioners most of the times avoid giving more than one remedy at a time. A second remedy more than likely will not be given till the first one has completely ceased to act. Consult a homeopathic practitioner to see which remedies are best for you to use. Sources:
