Deep Cleansing Lemon Facial Scrub
Use Lemons to Clean Excess Oil from Your Face and Prevent Acne and Blackheads!
Lemons (and lemon juice) have impressive amounts of goodies packed inside them that makes them great for cleaning and refreshing the skin on your face. Lemons have a lot of vitamin C and antioxidants, and also contain amounts of sodium and natural fruit oils that are good for sucking dirt from your pores. Using lemons to clean your skin is a good idea if your face is prone to acne breakouts, blackheads, or sometimes just gets sweaty and oily when you don't want it to.
A great way to cleanse and refresh your face using lemons is to make a natural, effective facial scrub right at home. All you need is a fresh lemon or about a quarter cup of lemon juice, two tablespoons of pure cane sugar, and a single tablespoon of sea salt.
When mixing things that use small amounts of sugar and liquid, I normally use a deep dish instead of a bowl because it's easier to make a paste-like consistency. So, in a deep dish or a shallow bowl, add your ingredients together starting with the sugar and salt. Mix them well until you have a consistency similar to a runny paste, and stop mixing when you feel it will be easiest to apply to your face. (You'll be able to tell.)
Apply to your face in the problem areas first; the areas on the sides of your nose and underneath your nostrils, your forehead, and the outsides of your cheekbones. These areas get very oily very easily. Apply with your fingertips in small circles, moving from the problem areas and down into the center of your face, evenly distributing the scrub all over your face. Once you've got every inch of your face, rinse it clean with cool water. The result is a fresh smelling, firm and soft skin on your face that's irresistibly beautiful and completely clean!
If you have skin on your face that tends to get oily often, or you have skin that's prone to acne and acne breakouts, using this lemon scrub twice a week is a good idea. Remember to avoid getting too close to the eye area when rinsing and applying this face scrub! Have fun, and keep it natural!
