You yell and I shrink
You cuss and I cringe
I cower and I bend
but never give up or give in to breaking
Too strong of a spirit to offer up for the taking
I surrender what? Nothing!
I surrender when? Never!
Whosoever you appear to be will never control the power source within me
Neither by persuasion nor by force
will you deter my fruition
I will continue to grow and flourish in spite of your sinister ambition
to thwart my growth
Mannnnn you just don't know...
The more you hide
The more I see
clearly
your fear is of me
You cut me down and I uproot and still grow stronger
You clip my wings and I adapt by running faster, harder, longer
you yell
and I shrink
you cuss
and I cringe
I cower and I bend
but Never give up or give in
I merely react physically
out of pity
toward the misery
you must be feeling
for never defeating me.

Post a CommentGreat poem. When I read I cuss and I cringe I actually cringe thinking about how that makes me feel when someone does that to me. Good job. :-)
