The Playoffs is one of the most exciting part of the football season. However, so is deciding the most dominating defenses going into the AFC and NFC divisional playoffs.

The Defenses in the AFC this season has been a big part of the outcome in many games. Jacksonville Jaguars during the regular season had 37 sacks. They also had 951 total tackles, and forced 15 fumbles. Despite their mediocre defense they had 20 interceptions. During the postseason they had 83 total tackles, 6 sacks, forced a fumble, and 2 interceptions. They also have Sammy Knight and Mathis. The Indianapolis Colts have Bob Sanders. During the regular season they had 1141 total tackles, 28 sacks, and forced 20 fumbles. San Diego Chargers had 1117 total tackles, 42 sacks, and forced 19 fumbles, and 20 interceptions. They also have Shawne Merriman a very dominating defensive player. Postseason they had 76 tackles. New England Patriots have Tedy Bruschi, Junior Seau, Adalius Thomas, and Mike Vrabel. During the regular season they had 1055 tackles, and 47 sacks, and 19 interceptions.

The Defenses in the NFC had to battle throughout the season with other teams. They have battled against the domineering AFC offenses, as well as the NFC. Dallas Cowboys had 1041 tackles, 46 sacks, and 20 fumbles. It also doesn't hurt to have Roy Williams and DeMarcus Ware on the team. New York Giants had 1049 tackles, 53 sacks, and 16 forced fumbles. Postseason they have 63 tackles, 1 sack, and 2 forced fumbles. During the regular season Green Bay Packers had 1015 tackles, 36 sacks, and 13 fumbles. However, Seattle Seahawks had 1050 tackles, 45 sacks, and 25 sacks. Postseason the Seahawks had 89 tackles, 1 sack, and 1 forced fumble.

The team's defenses have put up some good stats this season. The defense would probably rank as follows:

Indianapolis Colts

New England Patriots

San Diego Chargers

New York Giants

Dallas Cowboys

Seattle Seahawks

Green Bay Packers

Jacksonville Jaguars
