Defiance: Movie Review

The true story of Defiance, directed by Edward Zwick, provides viewers with a heart wrenching story about Jewish men, women, and children fighting to stay alive, while the German Nazi Army hunted them down like wild game. Daniel Craig (Casino Royale) plays Tuvia Bielski, the leader of a partisan group along with his two brothers Zus Bielski (Liev Schreiber) and Asael Bielski (Jamie Bell), that do their best to provide food, shelter and freedom to the hundreds of Jewish followers in the cold, harsh forest.

This film gives you an insight into the lives of the Jews who chose to fight the Germans, and create their own community. A community that yearned for love, security, and freedom. Through many sacrifices, treacherous winters, and many deaths, the remaining Jews continued to fight their way to freedom.

This film is a must see for those who enjoy true stories, and want to step inside a time in history.
