Delaware Autism Programs and Resources

Many would think that because Delaware is a small state, there would not be many resources to help those who are living with Autism. Families and carers worry that they will not be able to get the resources for their loved ones, which will enable them to lead a life that is of the utmost quality. Autistic adults, who live independently, holding down jobs and families, also worry that they will not have the support that it takes to help them cope through the challenges of everyday life. There is also the worry that families, carers, and independent Autistic adults will have to go to neighboring states for such resources. Though Delaware is a small state, there are plenty of programs for Autism that will provide help and support for Autistic people of all ages.

The first of the Delaware Autism programs and resources is Autism Delaware. Autism Delaware provides a number of services for autistic individuals of all ages. Some of the services that Autism Delaware offers are recreational resources, support groups, social events, help for individuals with Asperger's Syndrome, and various committees that work together to improve the quality of life for those with an Autism spectrum disorder. If you want more information about Autism Delaware, you can contact them by calling 302-224-6020.

The next of the Delaware Autism programs and resources is the Lower Delaware Autism Foundation. The Lower Delaware Autism Foundation is dedicated to providing services to those with Autism of all ages. Some of the services that the Lower Delaware Autism Foundation provides are Autism support services like therapy and support groups, advocacy, career services, and education sessions to increase awareness about Autism. For more information about the Lower Delaware Autism Foundation, you can visit their website or call them at 302-644-3410.

The last of the Delaware Autism programs and resources is the Delaware Autism Program. This program provides assistance to students from the time they are diagnosed with Autism up until the age of twenty-one. Some of the services that the Delaware Autism Program provides is respite care, a twelve month school year (The children will more than likely object to this, as children do not want to spend their time in school all year round.), community services, and residential services if they are needed. If you want more information about the Delaware autism Program, place a call to 302-454-2202.
