Golf, slots, horse racing, and fine dining - Delaware Park has it all! Delaware Park, near Wilmington, Delaware, offers everything you want for a night out on the town or a weekend escape. Delaware Park is convenient from Philadelphia and Baltimore and just minutes away from Wilmington.

Delaware Park Horse Racing

Delaware Park's historic horse racing track dates back to 1937, when William duPont, Jr. designed the facility. Over the decades, Delaware Park has become a regional draw. Today, Delaware Park, along with its upgraded grandstand seating, large video screen, and electronic betting system, runs racing events several days a week throughout the spring, summer, and fall.

Be sure to check out Delaware Park's racing schedule to find out when the next racing event takes place.

Delaware Park's Barbaro Connection

Remember Barbaro, the famous and loved 2006 Kentucky Derby winner who captured America's hearts when he broke his leg and later died because of complications from his injury? Barbaro's first race - and first win - occurred at Delaware Park on October 4, 2005.

Barbaro went on to win five consecutive races more before becoming one of the most famous racing horses in American history. Delaware Park has since renamed a stakes race in Barbaro's honor.

Video Slots and Gaming

Delaware Park offers fun for those who like pulling levers, pushing buttons, and laying it all on the "line" - slots and video gaming. Delaware Park offers hundreds of machines ranging from "penny" slots to video machines costing up to $50 a play.

Slots and video gaming ranges from traditional-style slots to fun and interactive progressives. There are many high-tech, interactive video machines which replicate popular table games, too; these can involve groups of several players who are led by a virtual dealer.

White Clay Creek Country Club at Delaware Park

Delaware Park's offerings include the White Clay Creek Country Club, a full 18-hole golf course which takes advantage of the natural beauty of the area's rolling topography. White Clay Creek Country Club offers a pro shop, lessons, and At The Rail Wine Bar & Grille - a restaurant offering a full range of great meals and a wine list.

Dining

Delaware Park offers several dining opportunities. Along with At The Rail Wine Bar & Grille on site, Rooney's Deli, Breakfast At The Park, The Beefstro, Del'Cap Room, and Legends are a few of the many wonderful places to grab a light snack or indulge with an upscale dinner while enjoying your time at Delaware Park.

Player Rewards Club

Delaware Park rewards those who make the complex a regular stop. The Player Rewards Club is free to join and offers patrons the chance to earn points and other benefits.

One fast way to earn Player Rewards points is to insert your Player Rewards Club card in the slot or video gaming machine you are playing. Points can be used for purchases, such as gifts at the Traditions Boutique on the first floor (where the slot machines are located). Be sure to stop by the information desk by the main entrance of the slot parlor (located under the racing grandstands) to sign up.

Now THERE's someplace we could hop over to. (Even if I still feel Delaware has no business being a state. :)

Sounds like fun Joshua! We've got a similar setup in Yonkers, just north of NYC.
