Not only do researchers say that breakfast is the most important meal of the day, but AIB International reports that nearly $30 billion will be spent on breakfast foods by Americans in 2007. Hence, there are several guidelines and suggestions to follow if you'd like to create a bowl of delicious cereal!
Cereal Option #1: Use Fruit Toppings!
Many people enjoy adding fruit toppings to their cereal no matter which type of cereal they buy. A couple fruits that actually taste good on a bowl of Cheerios or Kix are bananas and strawberries. Slicing up bananas and strawberries and scattering them on a bowl of cereal is not only healthy and adds more nutrients to your day, but also tastes very good indeed! If you only prefer one type of fruit, choose the type that best interests your taste buds and use that one! One other topping that is also very good-tasting on your cereal is rhubarb. Putting rhubarb on your bran flakes has long been a tradition for me in the mornings; you just might like it if you try it!
Cereal Option #2: The More Sugar the Better
If you aren't going to get enough sugar from the five or six cups of coffee that you're about to drink, go ahead and pile on the sugar on your favorite cereal! Who cares if the cereal is already naturally sweetened anyway? The more sugar you have in the beginning of the day will enable you to stay energized throughout your whole work or school day!
Cereal Option #3: Mixed Cereals is the way to go!
Have you ever thought about mixing two cereals? It may happen that you are in the mood for Cinnamon Life, but then the Honey Nut Cheerios are screaming, "Pick Me!" There are so many options when you try to combine cereals, but making sure the taste of the cereals don't clash is one issue you'll have to be careful with. For example, combining Fruity Pebbles and Cinnamon Toast Crunch in one bowl may not be the best idea simply because the two of them have very distinct flavors. But when you have a craving for more than one of your favorite cereals, combining them just may be the way to go!
All of these things will help you to have a great-tasting bowl of cereal in the morning. In fact, you'll probably be happier that you had a good and hearty bowl of breakfast when you go into work on Monday and are upset because you have the rest of the work week ahead of you. But do yourself a favor: take time in the morning before work or school to create a delicious bowl of cereal-- you'll be glad you did!
