Delicious Deviled Eggs

Growing up in the South, one of the favorite staples of any sort of gathering or holiday event is deviled eggs. They are a great little appetizer to put out alongside your relish trays, cheeses and fruits. There are many ways to make deviled eggs, but this recipe includes bacon, which as we all know, makes absolutely everything taste more delicious. Also, this recipe can serve as a great base for your own personal take on deviled eggs, as it allows for things such as various peppers and spices to be added to suit your tastes.

Deviled Eggs:
1 dozen eggs
1 tablespoon of mayo
1 tablespoon of yellow mustard
salt and pepper to taste
garlic powder to taste
1 1/2 tablespoons sweet pickle relish
3 pieces of bacon, fried then finely crumbled
paprika

Boil eggs in a glass pot. After eggs are boiled, run cold water over the eggs in the glass pot and continue to run the water until all hot water has run out of the pot and the water is entirely cold. Allow eggs to sit for 20 minutes in the cold water, then carefully crack and peel the eggs. Place eggs on a cutting board and slice eggs length-wise. Remove yolks and place them into a mixing bowl. Combine eggs with salt, pepper, garlic powder, mayo, mustard, relish and bacon pieces. Use a fork to mash all ingredients together, then spoon the mixture into the empty egg halves. Arrange on your serving platter and then sprinkle with paprika.

These will look great with your Easter spread, and are also a tasty way to use those eggs that didn't make it into the Easter baskets!
