Delicious Fig and Goat Cheese Tart

An Easy and Elegant Dessert

Sassy Goat
Are you having guests and need a delicious, quick recipe for an outstanding dessert? I absolutely love figs and think the best way to have a fig is to eat it ripe, right off of the bush! The next best way is with this great tart recipe that is really easy to make and tastes delicious.

Sassy Goat Fig and Goat Cheese Tart

1 to 1 1/2 cups fresh figs sliced lengthwise in half
1/2 cup plain goat cheese (you may use cream cheese if goat cheese is not available)
1 Pillsbury pie crust
1 teaspoon Smart Balance
Honey

First you take the pie crust and place it out flat on a piece of waxed paper. Smooth the goat cheese (or cream cheese) over the bottom of the crust leaving about 3" around the edges. Drizzle a teaspoon of honey over the goat cheese. Place sliced figs over the goat cheese, cut edge facing up. Drizzle about a tablespoon of honey over the figs. Dot figs with Smart Balance. Fold crust by folding the edges back over the tart mixture and pleat crust edge. Place on a piece of foil on top of a cookie sheet and bake at 400 degrees until crust is browned and figs are tender, about 20-25 minutes. Serve with fresh whipped cream. These can also be made in advance when figs are ripe and frozen. Just take directly from the freezer and place into the oven and bake per directions above. Enjoy!!

I was going to comment on how gross a goat cheese and fig tart seems, but I'm a fan of anything you drizzle anything on!
