Dell Developing New Smartphone with Sport Video & Audio Playback

Many companies have become envious of the cell phone market. They look upon the market and feel as if they should be part of it. This is because they understand how profitable that market is and how it can only continue to grow bigger. Dell Computers is one of the most recent companies to express interest of entering the cell phone game with a bang. This is why I felt it was important to pass on to you the news that the company is close to releasing a top secret mobile device that is supposed to change the cell phone picture forever.

There is a ton of information being passed around by people in the industry. Some have stated that the device is going to be similar to the smartphone, but differ through incorporating more multimedia related capabilities. Dell has always tried to focus their product developments in the area of computer development. IThis is why it would make sense for the company to incorporate some of their computer technologies into the new cell phone. This could mean some amazing accessories that we have yet to see incorporated into a cell phone.

To make the news that Dell is working on such a product even more legit, it was discovered that the company has already hired a outside help in the area of product development. Taiwanese company Quanta is helping Dell with the creation of the mobile device. Reports are stating that the smartphone will come equipped with both sport video and audio playback. Users will also be able to look forward to having wireless Internet functionality as well. The device is sounding better and better by the minute.

Former Motorola cell phone executive vice president Ron Garriques was also recently hired by the Dell company. The hiring has long led to the widespread rumors that Dell had something up its sleeve. With the recent releases of Dell's PDA and DAP products, insiders believed that there was another big product in the plans. The recent discovery of this device has proved those statements to be true. Rumors are also stating that the company is going to introduce something special that will allow the company to diversify itself against the smartphone competition. This will be a smart move because there are already several companies that are involved in the smartphone business.

Many believe that Dell is looking to make the smartphone more of a gaming console that comes with cellphone capabilities. This will be interesting to see if Dell decides to go in this direction. Nintendo recently announced that they are going in that direction with enhancements being made to their Nintendo DS gaming console. It will be interesting to see which of the devices reach the market first, or if they reach the market at the same time. The same rumors are reporting that Dell is planning to release the device sometime early in 2008. This release would come far ahead of the currently projected Nintendo release. Only time will tell what else the device will incorporate.
