The Dell Inspiron duo Tablet PC is a 10.1" convertible tablet with a multitouch, high definition screen. It is capable of 1366x768 resolution, and the screen utilizes a flip-hinge design in order to change from a laptop to a tablet in seconds. The dimensions of it are 11.22" x 1.03" x 7.66" and it weighs about 3.4 pounds. This means it is both larger and heavier than the typical tablet, mostly due to the fact that it has the netbook hardware attached to it. Considering that tablets typically use an operating system optimized for tablets, this tablet can be considered a netbook which can be turned into a tablet, not the other way around. The reasoning for this is because instead of an Android operating system, the Dell Inspiron duo Tablet PC comes with a licensed copy of Windows 7 Home Premium (32-bit) pre-installed. It has an Intel dual-core Atom N550 processor which runs at 1.5GHz and 2GB of DDR3 RAM. There is an Intel NMIO Express Chipset inside, as well as an Intel NMIO Express video card. For a hard drive there is 320GB of internal storage which runs at 7200rpm.
For sound output there are 2 1-watt speakers built inside. There is a 1.3 megapixel camera on the front of the tablet so you can video chat with friends, family, and co-workers. The Dell Inspiron duo Tablet PC has a battery life of about 3 hours and 57 minutes. The battery life of this tablet is lower than other tablets because of the processor it chooses to use. The NVIDIA Tegra 2 processor, for example, is optimized for tablet use and therefore uses less energy to run. The Intel Atom processor found in this tablet is older technology. For connecting to the Internet the Dell Inspiron duo Tablet PC has Wi-Fi and Bluetooth technology installed. In terms of ports there are microphone and headphone jacks, two USB 2.0 ports, and an AC port.
Enough with all the physical descriptions and technical specifications. What can it do? Well, it is Flash capable so when you browse the Internet you are going to see websites at their best and most intended. The Dell Inspiron duo Tablet PC can be used as a digital frame and alarm clock, which makes it useful for more than just your typical computing tasks. The touchscreen utilizes duo Stage software. This software helps you access music, movies, and photos quickly and easily. The software can be accessed right on the desktop and locates all your content automatically, putting it right at your fingertips. If you want to enhance your music and/or movie experience then I recommend getting the Inspiron duo Audio Station with JBL speaker technology. It is an optional accessory which turns your Dell Inspiron duo Tablet PC into a music station. You have a few options in terms of colors. It comes in Foggy Night Black, Fastback Red, and Marlin Blue.
