Dell Studio MT: Computer Review

The reason why I adore Dell so much is because I'm capable of customizing my laptops however I see fit. I haven't been able to experience this with any other computer company, ever. So when it comes to purchasing computers, I try to make Dell my first choice. I had to buy my oldest grandson a computer for school. So of course I shopped around for a Dell. I ended up purchasing the Dell Studio MT. There are so many reasons why I chose the Dell Studio MT, but the main reason was because I really didn't have to customize it at all.

The Dell Studio MT was a bit expensive but considering the all around performance I really couldn't complain. The Dell Studio MT is a mini tower which allows less space to be taken up and more room to be had. I have always disliked the huge towers, I feel there is no need in wasting space on something that could be a whole lot smaller.

The Dell Studio MT has an Intel Core 2 Quad 8200/2.33 GHZ processor. Talk about fast. I found that the Dell Studio MT is also a great computer for recording as well. My grandson is a DJ so from time to time he likes to use his computer to store music on.

The Dell Studio MT also has 64GB of RAM. The Ram is what made me originally buy it. I was shocked that the Dell Studio MT was even offering that much Ram for the Price. It also comes with Graphics:ATI Radeon HD 3450 , which is pretty neat. But I do know that the Dell Studio MT comes with an HDMI port which allows you to hook your TV up to it. I have no idea what it's really used for but I figure hey my grandson would know.

My favorite aspect of the Dell Studio MT was the 750 GB SATA-3007200 rpm hard drive. Talk about fast. The Dell Studio MT is fast and can handle tons of operations at once. It comes with an optical drive which is a DVD-RW 16x. I believe all computer should come with some type of DVD/CD burner.

Unfortunately the Dell Studio MT operating system is Vista Home Premium. I'm not a huge fan of Vista and I guess that's all because of what I'm used to. I normally use Windows XP but since the Dell Studio MT wasn't for me, I really didn't' t have much to say. The exterior is a bit bland but I guess it's not really about how the computer looks but how it works.

Another thing that isn't all that great about the Dell Studio MT is that it doesn't have wireless connectivity. Most computers these days are actually coming with wireless capabilities. Even thought it isn't all that big of a deal because it's not like it's a laptop, it still can be helpful if you happen to have WIFI in your home,
The Dell Studio MT has Firewire 400 ports, digital audio ports and the good old USB.

If you become interested you can add more hardware to your Dell Studio MT which is another reason why I bought it.

If you are looking for a decent Desktop that won't cost you an arm and a leg and has all the features the expensive computers have, I suggest that you check out the Dell Studio MT. For $800 you can bet your bottom dollar, you'll get high performance machine.
