The device is equipped with a lot of functionality and it highly adequate in the processing of data and information. The keyboard of the Vostro 1700 is very handy in the sense it is equipped with a numeric keypad, which is a welcome development. Above the numeric keyboard there are dedicated buttons for the end, page up, page down and home keys, which is good for surfing the web, email and many more.

The Dell equipped the Vostro 1700 notebook with a lot of handy and adequate ports, which are beneficial to users. The left side of the device is equipped with Express-Card, wireless switch while the rear side of the Vostro 1700 features the three USB ports, modem, S-Video output. The right of the Vostro 1700 manufactured by the Dell is equipped with the headphones/microphone connections, DVD drive, 8-in-1 memory card reader, IEEE 1394 (Firewire), an external monitor output, Ethernet port and two more USB ports.

A 6-cell battery supplies power to the Vostro 1700 notebook manufactured by the Dell Company. The battery is quite handy and also has a capacity of 56WHz.
