Dell XPS M1730 Laptop Review

The Dell XPS M1730 is a beautiful laptop with a gorgeous 17 inch WUXGA screen. It is an extremely fast laptop and is great for gaming. It comes loaded with Windows Vista Home Premium. The processor is an absolute screamer at a 2.8 GHZ Intel Core 2 Extreme. The graphics card is the Dual Nvidia Ge-Force 8700M-GT that gives you 512MB of video RAM which is more then enough for nearly any video type task you can think of. The graphics when gaming are fast and smooth and video conferencing on this computer is speedy and not choppy at all. It has a wireless card installed and also an integrated Verizon wireless broadband card. How cool is that? To have a broadband card actually built in! I guess it might not be for people that don't want to have Verizon as their wireless broadband company but it remains always an option for buyers of the Dell XPS M1730. It has dual 200 GB hard drives meaning you have a total of 400 GB to store all your files and information.

The Dell XPS M1730 has an 8X DVD super drive so you can burn DVDs. This notebook is absolutely huge and weighs a whopping ten pounds! It is also two inches thick so it is not that fun to carry around, but its features more then make up for the extra weight. The glossy black case is extremely stylish and the Dell logo illuminates from the LCDs back light. They keyboard and the speakers and touchpad also light up from and LED light. It is very very fancy and cool looking and is definitely an attention grabber. The price will grab your attention too at over $2600 dollars.

This is a gaming notebook and will handle any game you want to play. The only downside to this laptop is its sheer size, it is absolutely a tank. It does seem like it is very sturdy and durable and may be able to take a few hits if I dropped it a couple times.

In conclusion, the Dell XPS M1730 is a great gaming laptop and has all the features the avid gamer would want. There is more enough hard drive space to store all of your favorite games. The speed of the processor and the video memory will handle any game out there. It is an absolute beast of a laptop in every sense of the word there is no doubt about it.
