Delphi Communities - Great Fun on the Net

A Delphi forum is an active community of people who share a common interest and interact by posting on message boards and by meeting for secluded chats. Unlike many other message boards that I have visited, Delphi forums are very active. Delphi has over 2 million registered users, 80,000 active Forums, and 50,000 messages each day. Some of my favorite forms have at least two hundred new posts a day. The political forums I belong to can have over 1,000 posts a day. I have frequently been involved in hot discussions where twenty or more people were discussing the same issue. It isn't at all uncommon for my messages to be answered in a matter of minutes. These forums are not a place where you can post a message and then ignore it for a period of days. You will get others posting answers to your message, which you have to answer. That is fun of the thing. You will have to think.

As member of Delphi you can enjoys many features. You can post on any forum you choose. You can choose the email alert option where you will receive an email telling you that a message you have posted has been answered. Click on the link the email provides and you immediately go to that answer where you can read it and answer them. Many forums have their own chat room. Delphi offies free blogs to its members. Also any memeer can create his own forum on any topic.

You will have a "My Forums" page, which keeps track of the communities you participate in. This page lists all of the communities you visit regularly and the ones you just dropped in on. It will list how messages have been posted since you last visited that community and how many of those messages are to you. You can even create a profile where you can post an image and personal information to share with others. You can click on the names of people with whom you are exchanging messages and read their profiles. You can even add fun or special signatures to your posts, pictures and use html.

Delphi is free and easy to join. You need to go to http://www.delphi.com/dir-delphi/ and click on Sign In. That will take you to a place where you will fill out information to start a new account. Delphi has a help page that will teach you how to post messages or you just choose a forum that interests you and jump in. To find a forum you might like, writes a subject in the search box. Delphi will then list every forum on that subject. There is also a Top 100 list of the most active forums going.

There are forums on every possible topic. Are interested in discussing politics? There are many hot political forums that are exceedingly active. Be prepared to defend your point of view. Try the Opihion forums.

Want to talk about family issues? There are forums on pregnancy, adoption, infertility, homeschooling, parents with ADD children, and every other conceivable family issue. Try the Stay-at-Home Parents, Baby Names, Trying To Conceive, Midlife Mommies Message Board, Origins-For people separated by adoption. Pen Pals for Kids, and Punkys Child Care Chat. I haven't been to many of these, but I am sure that you can find one you enjoy.

Are you a Christian? There are several great forums for those of us who are believers. One of my favorites are Adult Christian Forum. Adult Christian also has a forum for Christian teens that I would recommend.

Have you suffered a loss? Do you have an illness? Are you recovering from an addiction or from abuse? There are forums of other people just like you that want to help and listen.

You want to discuss music? There are forums on every conceivable kind of music topic. There are forums for certain rock groups, classical music, oldies but goodies, country, and those who want to write and sing their own music.

Are you into entertainment? There are forums for the fans of every single soap. There are forums for the fans of all of the hot television shows. There are many movie forums. There are Star Trek forums and Star Wars forums and forums for every single kind of sci-fi and fantasy fan going.

There are forums for people who like to read horror books and mysteries and romances. There are forums for writers.

Are you a health nut? Trying to lose weight? Are you a vegetarian? There are forums with others that share that passion.

Do you homeschool? Try Homeschooling, which is a huge and active forum. Are you a public school teacher? There is a forum or two for you also.

Do you like football, basketball, baseball, soccer or all of the above? There are forums just for you.

Teens can try Teen Advice or Teen Spot. Do you quilt? There is a forum for you.

What kinds of hobbies do you enjoy? Love to garden, bird watch, and astronomy? There are forums where you can meet others just like you.

Are you a web head? Interested in writing your own web page? Like playing games on line? There are forums for you to enjoy.

I cannot begin to list all of the forums or different kinds of forums on Delphi. Each forum has its own rules. The start page will tell you what the forum is about and list its rules.
