Delta 17-959L 17" Laser Drill Press Review

How much do I like my Delta 17-959L 17" Laser Drill Press? Well, words alone cannot express the way I feel for this solid piece of machinery-something that concerns my significant other, believe me! But in all seriousness, as someone who enjoys building things, this drill press has been a nice addition in my garage workshop.

One of the first things you will notice with the Delta drill press is how strong and sturdy that it is. Assembly is simple and straightforward, taking only a few minutes to accomplish with the help of a friend or family member. The key to remember with it is to be sure and either mount it directly to the floor or into a piece of 3/4" plywood to give it a solid base.

This particular drill press has a laser for precision alignment, as well as a handy work light. The process of aligning and adjusting the laser will take a few minutes the first time, but it is not difficult whatsoever. Once set up it works well at all table locations.

The tilting table and T-slots are another area that Delta gets high marks for. They work well and do what they are supposed to do. With 5 inches of travel, the quill is easy to work with. Adjusting the depth stop on this drill is one of the easiest processes I've experienced on any model of drill.

The Delta 17-959L 17" Laser Drill Press is a solid piece of machinery that does what it says it will do. It's a nice addition to any home, garage or building shed of any person who does his or her own construction or home improvement projects. Why spend twice as much time and money using a drill press that won't get the job done, when this one is easy to use, affordable and readily available?
