Delta Burke, Britney Spears and Justin Chambers in Psychiatric Wards: Is Fame Worth It?

It has been reported by TMZ.com that Delta Burke is in a psychiatric hospital for obsessive compulsive disorder, depression and hoarding. The former funny "Designing Women" star said on the interview provided via TMZ.com that she was on so many medications and they were not working. She said she needed to get her "meds worked out" and with being on five medications, it was a long procedure to go through.

Delta says that she has severe depression and generalized anxiety and she believes maybe she wasn't either being given the right medications or she was misdiagnosed with the mania. She says she hates hoarding and she really wants to work on that issue. I hope that Delta can get the proper treatment, appropriate prescription medications and therapy that she needs so that she can hopefully lead a normal life. I feel sorry for these stars. They have so much on them and no privacy. It isn't any wonder they need psychiatric help.

Delta's not the only star in the news lately for needing psychiatric attention. Britney Spears has been in headlines now for months due to her erratic behaviors. TMZ.com reports today that Britney was released from the psychiatric unit at the UCLA Medical Center. It has been reported that Britney was left go from the hospital because the doctors determined that Britney Spears was not a danger to herself or to others. Because of this the hospital could no longer legally detain her.

Britney's parents gained conservatorship while Britney was in the hospital so that she could return home to some normalcy. My personal opinion is that Britney is suffering from postpartum depression. To have two kids as close together as she did her hormones have to be messed up. Then on top of that, just the constant harassment from the press and never having a moment's peace would send the sanest person to the mental ward. Now it is coming out that Britney's live-in paparazzi boyfriend has been putting drugs in her food. I hope she is also able to get her life back in order. It's a shame that someone so young and so talented is going through all of this.

Justin Chambers of Grey's Anatomy was recently hospitalized in a psychiatric ward at the end of January for sleep disorders. Justin said that he was exhausted and he voluntarily went in the hospital for help. Justin was at the same hospital as Britney Spears. Hopefully, he can get some help for his sleep disorders. Justin Chambers plays Dr. Alex Karev on the hit ABC drama.

Is it worth it to be famous? I don't think any amount of fame or fortune could persuade me to go through what these people have to.
