Demi Moore Announces She Will Divorce Ashton Kutcher
Plus, Other Celebrities She Has Been Married to and Dated
Actress Demi Moore, 49, announced Thursday that she was ending her six-year marriage to "Two and a Half Men" star Ashton Kutcher. The announcement comes just weeks after a 23-year-old woman claimed to have had a one night stand with the actor when he was in San Diego in September.
This isn't the first time Moore has seen a marriage or relationship end.
Freddy Moore:
Demi was first married to singer Freddy Moore, whose surname she kept for professional reasons. The two were married in 1980 when Demi was 18 years old. Their marriage ended in 1984. In 1982, the actress began dating fellow "General Hospital" actor John Stamos.
Emilio Estevez:
Moore was briefly engaged to fellow "St. Elmo's Fire" co-star Emilio Estevez in the '80s. They ended their relationship and went their separate ways in 1987.
Estevez and Moore, who had seen each other socially on occasion, reunited for the movie "Bobby." Ashton Kutcher also appeared in the movie as a hippie.
Bruce Willis:
The "LOL" actress married actor Bruce Willis in 1987 after a three-month courtship. Their Las Vegas wedding set them back an estimated $875,000. In an interview with BBC News, Demi's friend and "St. Elmo's Fire" co-star Ally Sheedy said that the Willis-Moore marriage was one of convenience.
"The quickest route to power for an actress in Hollywood is to hook yourself up with someone who can put you in a good position and make yourself into a sex object."
The former couple divorced after 13 years of marriage and have three children together.
If this practice of marrying as a way of opening doors is true, it's sure to be a two-way street not exclusive to women - meaning it's possible that Kutcher married Moore as a means to further his career. It's been rumored that the couple's marriage was a sort of business arrangement.
When word had gotten out that Kutcher may have been unfaithful to his wife, Moore took to Twitter and posted a quote by philosopher Epictetus: "When we are offended at any man's fault, turn to yourself and study your own feelings. Then you will forget your anger."

Post a CommentJust another Hollywood marriage down the tubes. Not really surprised.
So far it seems that Demi is handling this with grace and dignity. I hope it stays that way. Celebrity marriages are ever a circus or perhaps better compared to a square dance where you pass your partner down the line. 13 years with Bruce however, does not sound like just an arrangement for convenience...seems like there was a little more to it.
