I observe the seeming wish of many Democrats to want to crown Hillary Clinton as the next President of the United States. Places like Moveon.org, and DailyKos parallel to Nazi writer Julius Streicher's Der Angriff (The Attack). I am also certain that somewhere out there there is the Democrats' equivalent of Ernst Rohm leading their equivalent of the Nazi SA.
Follow with me, for a bit, the events of June 29-30, 1934. Hitler had already consolidated his hold on the government of Germany. However, the military was still wary of him, due to the existence of Rohm and the Sturmabteilung, or SA. The SA boasted nearly four million members, while the entire military complement of the German Armed Forces was around 300,000. This SA had been used Hitler in his rise to power mostly as street brawlers against Communist gangs; however, they were also used to intimidate voters, harass Jews and members of other opposition parties. It was on January 30, 1933 that Adolf Hitler was proclaimed Chancellor of Germany (The Nazi Party, though not the majority party, had the largest number of Reichstag seats.) With control of the country, the SA's brute force tactics were obsolete, and Hitler needed the military to support him more than the SA.
On the night of June 29-30, 1934, Hitler used the Schutzstaffeln (SS) and the Geheime Staatspolizei (Gestapo) to wipe out the leaders of the SA, including Rohm. Along with Rohm went various others, many of whom were opponents of Hitler either within the Nazi party or outside of it within Germany.
Consider the fates of two brothers, Otto Strasser and Gregor Strasser. Otto Strasser, who would have led the National Socialist German Worker's Party (NSDAP, or National Sozialistiche Deutsche Arbeiter Partei, colloquially known as Nazi) as Joe Lieberman. Otto Strasser, like Joe Lieberman, was pretty much ousted by the Hitler faction of the NSDAP. He survived the Night of the Long Knives by fleeing Germany ahead of the killers.
Think of his brother Gregor Strasser (who would also have led the NSDAP in a different direction, though not as far as Otto) as something of a Barack Obama. Gregor Strasser challenged Hitler, as Obama does Clinton, on various issues, but still believes in the party.
Gregor Strasser, by the way, was killed during the Night of the Long Knives. Obama better watch his back and flee the country if Hillary becomes President.
My point in this first part? For those who support Hillary Clinton and the Democrat Party as it currently stands, beware. It is quite possible, even likely, that once in office, Hillary will pull the equivalent of "The Night of the Long Knives" on people in the party she either fears, hates, or was criticized and/or opposed by. I'd watch my back if I were Barack Obama, in particular.

"That would be wholly unpleasant *a repeat of the night of June 30, 1934* because that would mean that the Left has won and has the power to pull such a stunt and get away with it." Good point! Still, it was a nice daydream for a minute or two.hehe

"I am also certain that somewhere out there there is the Democrats' equivalent of Ernst Rohm leading their equivalent of the Nazi SA." That would be George Soros (Rohm) and Moveon (The SA). When I read your piece I thought it a stretch, but the Soros/Moveon correlation is right on the money, so maybe you have something here. With tongue FIRMLY IN CHEEK I must ask "is there any chance we could have a repeat of the night of June 30, 1934?" One (a good little Republican anyway) can only hope. hehe
