Democrats: Don't Tax Union Members Healthcare

Union members get a tax break. You the lowly taxpayer, well you're not a union member so therefore, you get to pay more taxes courtesy of the Democrats you think you are too rich. The backdoor, informal - code word for "secret" - meetings were held between Obama, some Democrats and the labor unions since they shouted the loudest about having their high-value, rape the company's profit "Cadillac" healthcare insurance benefits taxed.

Democrats will give this a no-big deal pass just like they did with Harry Reid's Negro comment problem. After all, it's those evil rich people who cause all the problems and spreading the wealth mantra is what Obama ran on - well except if you're a union member who has a Cadillac healthcare benefit, although I am still trying to learn what exactly a "Cadillac" healthcare benefit is.

Democrats will do and say things would destroy their careers and they do this on a constant basis but let a Conservative do anything for the good - like tax cuts-and you'll hear the banjos from the move "Deliverance".

What they are doing is providing special treatment to the unions in exchange for votes and in context, is also violating the Constitution - something the democrats have been getting good at these days.

The democrats for months have been looking for a way to raise money for their socialist healthcare and with this union versus the average American; they found a way to tax through the backdoor but will let the unions off the hook.

Under the democrat deal for unions, union workers will receive a nice under the table tax break of 40 percent tax for five years until 2018. The democrats in their vast wisdom of ignorance also raised the threshold for plans worth $24,000 instead of $23,000.

The threshold for the tax also was raised so that it will kick in for plans worth $24,000 instead of $23,000 - dental and vision coverage will not count toward that threshold as if it really mattered.

White House Communications Director Dan Pfeiffer, told reporters that the president is pleased with this agreement. Moreover, that the president's overarching goal, as he's said from the beginning, has been to bend the long term health cost curve and the health care reform legislation achieves that goal - Yes, Obama sure did but I believe he was speaking about everyone in the country, not just union members.

Not only is this backroom-under-handed-in-secret-deal another broken promise of "transparency" that Obama stated during his campaign, it also begs the question of whether it violates the Constitution.

In section one of the 14th Amendment it states:

All persons born or naturalized in the United States, and subject to the jurisdiction thereof, are citizens of the United States and of the State wherein they reside. No State shall make or enforce any law which shall abridge the privileges or immunities of citizens of the United States; nor shall any State deprive any person of life, liberty, or property, without due process of law;nor deny to any person within its jurisdiction the equal protection of the laws.

If one group is exempt from certain provisions of a law that would pertain to all citizens, then it should be considered to violate the civil rights of those who are being left out - kind of gives a new meaning to the word "disenfranchised" but don't tell the Democrats that.

The only other group of people, way before this cherry-picked union deal, the Amish were automatically exempt from Obamacare mandates. The conscience of this administration and the likes of Reid, Pelosi and other liberals have shown time and time again, that discrimination only pertains on how they wish to define and everything else is irrelevant - the irrelevance pertains to you and me, non-union members.

C.S. Lewis once wrote, "It may be better to live under robber barons than under omnipotent moral busybodies. The robber baron's cruelty may sometimes sleep, his cupidity may at some point be satiated, but those who torment us for our own good will torment us without end for they do so with the approval of their own conscience."

I am sure the democrats have a solid solution to settle our fears - join a union and we'll take care of you and your healthcare benefits won't be taxed. Since that is unlikely to happen, you might be better off becoming a member of the Amish community.
