And the Democrats seem to have fallen in love with both Raul and Fidel Castro.
"He looked directly into my eyes!" said Democrat Laura Richardson "and then he asked: how can we help President Obama? Fidel Castro really wants President Obama to succeed."
Democrat Barbara Lee enthusiastically said "It was quite a moment to behold! Fidel Castro was very engaging and very energetic."
Democrat Emanuel Cleaver said of Castro "He's one of the most amazing human beings I've ever met!"
Democrat and Congressional Black Caucus chairwoman Barbara Lee said "The fifty-year embargo just hasn't worked. bottom line is that we believe its time to open dialogue with Cuba" and Lee went onto add "It was quite a moment to behold" when she was asked about the meeting.
Democrat Bobby Rush said "Raul Castro was a very engaging, down-to-earth and kind man, someone who I would favor as a neighbor. It was almost like listening to an old friend," and went onto add that "In my household I told Castro he is known as the ultimate survivor". Democrat Bobby Rush also said that he found Castro's home to be modest and Castor's wife to be particularly hospitable
What did these Democrats find so appealing in Castro's that made them fall in love with the Castro's?
Why didn't the Democrats realize that, while Castro's Cuba is great to visit, it is a nightmare if you are living there and seeking "life, liberty and pursuit of happiness"?
Why didn't the Democrats feel like talking to the thousands of innocent Cubans still in prison without any trial, in poor conditions, before deciding to fall in love with the oppressive Cuban dictator Fidel Castro?
What do the Democrats find so lovable in the cold-blooded, best of the breed terrorists in prison camp in Guantanamo Bay, that made the Democrats stand up against their torture, but ignore the thousands of innocent people in prisons in Cuba, tortured by Castro just because they sought "life, liberty and pursuit of happiness", unlike the terrorists in Guantanamo who sought and planned to kill us all and still plan to?
Why didn't these Democrats feel like talking to the thousands along the coast of Florida, who risked their life, escaped and fled from Cuba, braving the shark infested waters, using unsafe boats? Why did these Democrats forget the thousands who died in these shark infested waters in the process of trying to escape from the evil, atrocious and oppressive Cuban dictator? Why didn't these Democrats feel like talking to the half a million people who were put through "camps of repression" by the dictator? Why didn't these Democrats feel like talking to the refugees numbering more than a million who were victims of Castro?
These Democrats should have spoken to these people before announcing their love affair with the Castro's. But these Democrats chose not to.
Is it because Castro in 1983 said "No one drove me into the arms of Moscow. I studied these matters carefully and came to the conclusion that Marxism-Leninism offered the only logical explanation for human history - past, present and future", much in line with the thoughts of the current administration which seem to believe in Karl Marx's "From the people, based on their ability, to the people, based on their needs"?
Is it because Castro admired Italian fascist dictator Mussolini, and Obama's economic policies of economic intervention and big time Government expansion, and Obama's goal of setting up civilian national security force that's just as powerful, just as strong, just as well-funded as the American military, all seem to be taken completely out of Mussolini's playbook?
Is it because Castro loves the concept of Socialized Health Care, much like Obama?
Well these are the only few reasons one could think of in the Democrat's love story with Dictator Fidel Castro.
