Democrats Had Their Chance but Failed Us -- and America

The Dems are now threatening us with their upcoming loss of the House. But, really, could it be any worse? The gutless Dems have allowed a few raggedy-arsed but disciplined Repugs to stop them in their tracks -- but really, they had no tracks to follow.

The Dem "energy program" is vapid and empty; Obama has no interest in, nor much knowledge about, solar panels or plug-in Electric cars. So he can't tell the scams from the facts.

Instead of demanding immediate production of existing solar panels, and immediate elimination of the barriers currently stopping solar panels from being installed in all states, Obama funds "research".

Bah! Research is for universities. The real barriers to solar are:
1. Failure to unify laws, a patchwork of laws forbidding uniform net metering (required to force utilities to pay the same for solar that they charge) and a uniform Solar Rights Act;
2. Failure to force utilities, the deadly enemy of rooftop solar systems, to allow their customers to install solar panels;
3. Artificial barriers by Planning, Building and Fire departments, opposition by Building Inspectors and ... UNIONS. Unions HATE solar power, and argue against it, because it threatens union operating engineer, lines and plant maintenance jobs.
Getting the picture? Dems are helpless because their own unions forbid change, forbid solarizing America.

The Dems join Big Coal in continuing to subsidize mountaintop removal, even though they could resume enforcement of the Clean Water Act which, when it was first enforced, previously STOPPED this destructive open-pit mining that clogs blue line and larger streams ... the waters of the US.

Similarly, the COAL miners refuse to allow solar: solar power directly threatens coal mining and nuke engineering and construction jobs, because each solar system that goes in reduces the argument for new power plants -- and makes it likely that obsolete coal and inefficient once-through-cooling plants would be closed. Each rooftop solar sysem produces power when and where it's needed, during the daytime period of peak demand and without need for new transmission lines or destroying the desert.

Once again, the Dems are their own worst enemy, and are unable to effect policy changes that would be required except for their clinging to old technologies -- due to their own internal contradictions.

And as for OIL, the pale rhetoric of Obama, as Jon Stewart points out, replicates the lies of the last 8 presidents. Dems have NO EXCUSE. The barrier placed on Electric cars by Chevron and GM, who by themselves forced a stop to EV and Nickel battery production, could easily be lifted by Obama ... but he can't, because of the oil companies, who contribute to him, and because of the auto unions.

The Dems join Big Oil in continuing to stop production of proven, still-running EVs which are already successful. But each EV that runs right past a gas station lowers oil profits and power, something Big Oil refuses to allow. And the Dems don't dare do a thing to promote EVs.

There are still hundreds of RAV4-EV, using proven Nickel batteries, still running, many of them owned by private drivers -- and most powered by rooftop solar systems. The money that formerly went to buy gas, goes to pay off the solar system; the only loser is CHEVRON. But Chevron won't allow, to this date, Nickel batteries to be used for plug-in cars. Chevron purchased control of Nickel patents, from GM, on Oct. 10, 2000, and funded a lawsuit against Toyota, to stop use of "their" batteries on any plug-in car. So Nickel can only be used for hybrids that can't plug in, oil-fired cars that get all their energy, ultimately, from the GAS PUMP. Chevron bought control of Nickel from ... General Motors. Standard Oil and GM...sound familiar?

NOT EVEN WHEN GM ITSELF IS TAKEN OVER BY THE GOVERNMENT!!! To this date, Obama is continuing to subsidize past and current production of oil-fired gas-guzzlers.

So, really, the Dems are their own worst enemies -- and the enemy of the Electric car and solar power.

And, the Dems are the enemies of America, to be plain. So if they are evicted from power, too bad, but they had their chance. And blew it big time.
