Democrats Pander to Lowest Common Denominator

Democrats are already appealing to the lowest common denominator.

I would hate to imagine someone casting a ballot in a Presidential Election, because their favorite celebrity has decided to support one Candidate over another.

However that is what we have come to, even though we are still almost a year from the elections.

Oprah Winfrey has decided to back Barack Obama. and Barbra Streisand had decided to campaign along with Hillary Clinton.

This is so sad because the Candidates have to know that they are not appealing to the intelligent well informed voter.

The intelligent well informed voter will consider the knowledge that Oprah supports Barack or Streisand supports Hillary completely irrelevant.

I would imagine the voter that makes her choice based on the Oprah indorsement, is the voter that can't name the Candidates, is unaware of any of the issues other than social welfare benefits, and rental assistance programs, and has managed to have three different babies for three different men, all before her 22^nd birthday.

I would also imagine that someone who would vote for Hillary simply because Streisand has volunteered to become one of supporters is the voter that wants to have his or her name in the paper and collect their 15 seconds of fame, and considers political issues and world events less important than when the next rerun of Sex in the City plays on TBS.

If I were suddenly elevated to Sultan of the United States these people wouldn't even be allowed to vote. No one would be allowed to vote until they had passed a general civics test that was offered only in English. This test would have very difficult questions on it like :

How many years does a President get to serve before he must be re-elected?

Who is the President?

Who is the vice-President?

Who was the last President?

Please list three American Senators?

Name one country that has active duty United States Troops in it right now.

Was President Bill Clinton a Democrat or Republican?

I may be a bit of a cynic but to imagine that our next Presidential Election could be decided by anyone that couldn't get at least an 80% score on the aforementioned quiz terrifies me more that free roaming terrorists.

I find it equally sad that a Candidate would pander to this particular flock of sheep.

Perhaps Ron Paul could get Snoop Dogg, Jay Zee, or Eminem to support him because there are still several dynamics of undereducated, ill informed, ignorant sheep waiting to be led to slaughter.

Wake Up America our destiny is being decided by sheep.
