Denny's Restaurant in Norcross, Georgia

Denny's 24 hour restaurant has been around for years and is best known for their Grand Slam meals. I have heard people talk about this establishment for years, but it was only recently that I had the opportunity to visit one in Norcross, Georgia.

When you enter the Denny's restaurant in Norcross, Georgia, it has the feel of a down home restaurant. The wait staff wears uniforms consisting of black Tees and aprons and they are extremely attentive and friendly. The restaurant consists of oversized booths and family style tables. Denny's even has a pop of color with hand blown lamps that hang above the booths and gives a little style to an otherwise ordinary décor.

Since I have heard so much about these Grand Slam meals, I decided I just had to try one. I am a breakfast eater and could literally eat breakfast twice a day so I went for the traditional Grand Slam meal that includes an omelet stuffed with sausages, bacon, hash browns and topped with your choice of scramble, fried or poached egg on top. This dish also comes with 2 large pancakes. Can you say stuffed?!

The omelet was good, but I am not a pork lover, so next time I would forgo having the sausage put into the omelet. However, overall the combination had a good flavor to it and the fluffy buttermilk pancakes just kind of made the entire meal. They were light and fluffy and perfectly done. If you are watching your diet as most of us are doing these days, then Denny's does offer lots of healthy breakfast choices to include: fruit, oatmeal, hearty wheat pancakes, egg whites, turkey bacon, granola and yogurt.

Denny's lunch offers lots of traditional good eats such as burgers, sandwiches and sides. They also do a good job of offering healthy items such as chicken salad and grilled chicken breast which is on their Fit Fare menu. The Fit Fare menu has lots of low fat and low calorie food items for those health conscience diners.

If you're just not into the breakfast and lunch fare, then you will most likely love the dinner menu. The dinner menu offers such favorites as Country Fried Steak, Home-style meatloaf and T-bone steaks. The meals are hearty and fairly reasonable. You can have a wonderful dinner for less than $15.00 and lunch and breakfast as low as $5.00.
