During the research on the topic of dental grants there were more sites found than not promising "Free Federal Dental Grants" that are yours for the taking. It is imperative to remember that the federal government does not give money to individuals who need help paying dental bills or receiving dental care, except indirectly. The sites that make these promises are generally insurance companies in disguise, scam sites, or plain jokes about a topic that is not a laughing matter.
The best way to find out if you can receive help from the government in offsetting or reducing the cost of dental care is to contact your local Department of Health to see what programs might be set in place for this particular need. The Department of Family Services may also guide you to programs that might be of assistance to you and your family.
If there is one near you, another avenue to explore for lower cost dental care is that of a dental college. Most dental colleges do accept public patients though the wait to get in might be longer than that of a private practicing dentist. It may sound as though you are getting sub-standard care from students, but that is not the case. With the exception of simple cleanings, there are qualified professors on hand to ensure other procedures are done properly. Another bonus: the students performing the work have the education of the job fresh in their minds, and are usually up on the newest methods.
It might take an investment of time (in the form of phone calls or local government agency online searches) in order to find ways to afford dental care, but the payoff in the form of finally being able to afford it outweighs the initial cost of time. The most important factor is to ensure you are getting assistance from a legitimate source!
