So do we.
Songs of the past,
Reminds us,
How things used to be.
Grief or happy times
Can re-stir a want
That never was fulfilled.
Still the echos may haunt,
Glued into the music.
An eraser can't undo
Dents in the page.
We must bend with the waves,
Rushing to a tune.
The remembrances change,
When the music is replayed.
The path of a river,
Took a different aim.
Now the scenery is altered,
With different flowers
On a changing shore.
We may wish to relive
The wonderful days,
But that wouldn't score.
Sadness would intervene.
Knowing how it ended,
Takes away the dream,
Like reading a book in tears,
With the lines blurred to can't see.
You couldn't face the faces
Without displaying grief.
The thought of the wish was grand,
But we must let them be,
The memories of yesterdays,
That are there for us to see.

I agree with Michelle's comment. It is safer to drive the life if we are looking forward more than the rearview mirror. Great work friend. :-)
good work
Love it!
Someone once said that the windshield is larger than the rearview mirror because it's important to see where you have been, but more important to see where you are going (to avoid dents in your car!) cheers :)
