At Christmastime, everywhere you look in Denver, Colorado, seems like a scene from the front of a Christmas card, with the snow-covered mountains and crisp clean air. This beautiful mountain city has a few holiday attractions you won't want to miss.

Come see how over one million colorful lights can transform Denver Botanic Gardens into a winter wonderland. The Gardens have been decked out in a blanket of glittering holiday lights which showcase the beauty of the Gardens plants and landscapes.

Make sure you try a pair of HoloSpex glasses, which will change the colorful lights into shimmering snowflakes. There will be holiday entertainment each night to make your visit to the Botanic Gardens
a complete holiday experience. After you walk through the gardens go inside to the Gates Garden Court, to warm up with steamy hot beverages and snacks while you enjoy the charming seasonal plants display.

Zoo Lights at the Denver Zoo

Zoo Lights at the Denver Zoo - come see the zoo transformed into a winter wonderland. Throughout this month long spectacular your entire family can enjoy the holiday entertainment, animated light structures and the millions of lights that decorate the 35-acres of trees, exhibits and landscape of the Zoo.

The Zoo is offering three special exhibits this year that you won't want to miss. From December 15th to the 23rd the Denver Zoo will present Wild Ice. Santa's helpers man this amazing ice carving garden.

Zoo LightsKwanzaa is held December 26 -30. The cultural holiday of Kwanzaa will celebrated African American Heritage with African music, dance and education.

Zoo Year's Eve, the Denver Zoo has reinvented New year's Eve. On December 31st starting at 5:00 pm children can experience this wild Family friendly New Year's Eve party. There will be lots of fun activities, entertainment and crafts, best of all they early New Years countdown begins at 9:00pm so even the little ones can enjoy all the fun.

Parade of Lights in downtown Denver

Where: Parade starts in front of Civic Center Park and the City & County Building on Bannock Street at 14th Avenue
When: Friday, November 30 at 8 p.m. and Saturday, December 1 at 6 p.m.
Channel 9 will rebroadcast the parade on
Saturday, December 8, 6:00 to 7:00 p.m. and
Sunday, December 24, 6:00 to 7:00 p.m.

You won't want to miss this beautiful Christmas parade. You will be entertained by local marching bands as you watch the brightly lit floats and amazing parade balloons go by. This annual Denver event will be the highlight of your holiday season.

If you want to get the best spot along this 2-mile parade route you will want to get there early and stake your claim or purchase one of the limited number of ticket for grandstand seating in front of the City and County Building. Tickets are $15 for adults and children 13 and older. Tickets for children ages 2-12 are $12. Children under 2 years old are free as long as the child sits on the lap of a ticket holder. ALL TICKETS WILL BE $15.00 on the day of the event.
