The Denver Lakeside Amusement Park first opened on Memorial Day, May 30, 1908 and is celebrating its 100 year anniversary this year. Lakeside Amusement Park is opened during the summer and they offer Kiddies Playland for the little ones and Major Rides for those who like more of a thrill. Kiddies Playland generally opens for admission at 1:00 PM during the week and Major Rides opens for admission at 6:00 PM. On the weekends the gates are opened at noon and all rides will be open by 1:00 PM.

Gate admission is required for every person aged 2 years or older and admission costs only $2.50. You can also choose to buy unlimited rides and gate admission together. If you will be visiting Monday through Friday, you can expect to pay $13.75 and if you will be visiting on Saturdays, Sundays or Holidays, you can expect to pay $19.75. They also provide group discounts if you're in a group of 10 to 24 and another discount for groups of 25 to 99 people.

Kiddies Playland has a total of 16 rides for children 7 years and younger and under 100 pounds. They have the Kiddie Coaster, the Kiddie Ferris Wheel, the Frog Hopper, Motorcycles, Space Ride, Wet Boats, Flying Tigers and more.

The Major Rides area of the park features more rides for the thrill seekers, including a coaster with a 140 foot drop tower, popular spinning rides like the Tilt-a-whirl, Scrambler and Round up; upside down rides like the Roll-O-Plane and Loop-O-Plane; driving rides like the Auto Skooters, Bumper Boats and Sports Cars; the Merry-Go-Round which is original with the park; Flying Rides, Rollercoasters and more. In order to ride the Major Rides, riders need to be at least 36" tall for all rides. Some of the rides require a height of 38" or higher.

Lakeside Amusement Park has a wide selection of food at great prices including pizza, sno cones, cotton candy, nachos, Pepsi products, frozen treats, chips, fries, funnel cakes, burritos, cookies, soft pretzels and more. During the day when the Kiddies Playland is open, vending machines and drink stands are available. All of the food and drink stands are open when the Major Rides are open.

If you live in or are planning to visit the Denver, Colorado area, be sure to plan an entire day at Denver Lakeside Amusement Park. It's wonderful for the entire family and the prices can't be beat!
