Denver's Most Authentic Mexican Restaurants

Overview of the Most Authentic and Delicious Restaurants in Denver, Colorado

Stephanie Espiritu
Being of Hispanic descent, I've always found it challenging to find Mexican restaurants that are as good or comparable to my mother and grandmother's cooking. Luckily, being born and raised in Denver gave me many opportunities to sample some of the best Mexican food that can be found in the United States.

Not only are Denver's Mexican restaurants delicious, many are independently owned, operated, and completely authentic.

Here is an overview of some of the most authentic Mexican restaurants in Denver, Colorado.

"Chubby's" is located at 1231 West 38th Avenue and is the best Mexican restaurant you'll ever find in Denver. The food is authentic, delicious, made fresh, and like nothing you've ever tasted before.

The portion sizes are not for those with little appetites, they are very generous and crush the largest hunger pains. The spiciness and flavor is never compromised at "Chubby's" which makes it a favorite of locals and visitors alike.

They have been serving great food for over 40 years and continue to provide the best Mexican food around the Metro area. To learn more about this great restaurant log on to Trip Advisor.

"The Brewery Bar" has been serving Denverites for over 50 years and has 3 locations. The restaurant was originally established in 1954 where it was situated inside the "Tivoli Brewery" and then moved in 1974 to its current location at 150 Kalamath Street.

"The Brewery Bar" has been given several awards and positive reviews such as "Best Mexican Bar Food" from "Westword," "Best Mexican Restaurant" from "Westword," "Best Chili Relleno Award of Excellence" from "KHOW-Mike Boyle Show," and Woodie Paige named it "Best Green Chili."

"The Brewery Bar" has everything from appetizers to combination plates with awesome flavor and affordable prices.

"Las Delicias" was established in 1976 by Roberto and Norma Torres. Although they started out with one restaurant they now have 5 to accommodate all of their faithful customers; locations are in North Denver, South East in the Parker area, Glendale, Uptown, and on South Broadway.

Their authentic menu consists of appetizers, a la carte to go, combo-Mexican dishes; desserts, and so much more. "Las Delicias" is a favorite of Denver locals not just because of the delicious food but because of the reasonable prices and excellent customer service.
