There are some things in your house that you can count on as being of no interest to anyone else. That is, if people broke into your house, they probably wouldn't steal a boring book, a nose hair clipper, or a deodorant stick. Even the lowest of low people have their limits. So, finish up that deodorant stick and use it as a secret hiding place. You can be relatively certain that no one will steal it, so while traveling or at home, your valuables or secrets are safe.
It's an easy matter to disassemble the deodorant container. Twist the bottom knob, which raises the deodorant, until you are able to get the top compartment out. When you do, you'll see that there is a plastic stick going down through the center of the deodorant container. Leave it intact. Remove any leftover deodorant out of the upper compartment and clean it well.
Lay the plastic compartment on a flat surface so that the open end is facing up. Wrap a piece of tape around the upper area so that the tape stands up a little taller than the edge of the compartment. The tape serves to prevent wax from spilling down the sides and also to allow you to pour the wax a little higher than the edge of the compartment.
Melt a small amount of white wax to fill the deodorant compartment. After melting it, allow it to cool considerably, and pour it into the lid. After the wax has set you can remove the tape.
Put whatever you want to in the secret hiding place. The body of the stick deodorant can hold coins or paper money, passwords or phone numbers, jewelry, and many other things. Just fill the body with your items and place the wax compartment on it. Be careful not to push really hard as you put the compartment in place or you could expose the plastic stick. Also, some things can rattle inside the deodorant so, to prevent that, stuff cotton around the enclosed items. Or, put things in tiny, zipper-lock bags from a craft store to keep them quiet.
The wax doesn't look exactly like deodorant so, if someone uncaps it and looks at it, it will look like wax. You can give it a smoother, deodorant-type look by rubbing it with a scrub sponge, wadded paper towel, or something similar.
After you cap the deodorant you can then put it wherever it looks natural. Set it on a table with other personal items, on a night stand at a hotel, on a shelf in a medicine cabinet, or in a cosmetic bag while traveling. You can feel reasonably safe that no one is going to steal your deodorant - fake or not. Since I've learned about the deodorant secret hiding place, I've made many, and I use them myself, as well as give them to others.
