Deployment guide for children

Deployment is never easy for anyone, especially the children.

Write letters. Letters are a personal communication to stay in contact with those overseas. Parents love to read and receive letters from their children. It helps keep the sadness away, even it is for only a moment.

Video post cards. Video post cards a great way for the parents who are serving overseas to watch their children grow while they are gone. Video allows you to see and hear those who are not with you. These are very special videos.

Care packages. Care packages will bring a piece of home to them. Packages are much needed overseas. They often lack the essential needs that we take for granted. Packages are from the heart. They bring love and joy to soldiers around the world.

Phone calls if possible. Phone calls are not always possible. When they are able to make a call, cherish those calls as if it would be your last. Children love to receive phone calls from their parents who are deployed. It keeps them close together.

Email. Corresponding through email is a faster communication tool than the United States postal service. Email keeps us closer together. Correspondence through email is instant. Technology has even allowed for us to have a web cam. This invention brings soldiers and their families that much closer together.

Stay positive. Staying positive isn't easy when you know your loved one is overseas fighting a war. Negative thoughts will only bring you down and keep you down. As the parent who isn't deployed, it is best for you to stay positive for the kids. Seeing you down will only bring them down as well.

A special thank you to those who continue to fight for our freedom on a daily basis. You mean the world to us. We wouldn't be where we are today if it wasn't for you. We appreciate everything you do for us. We owe so much to you for giving us our freedom. You fight for us to be free. We thank you from the bottom of our hearts.

We are proud of you and very thankful for everything you have done and continue to do for us and our country. It means so much. There isn't a minute that goes by that you are not in our hearts, prayers or thoughts. We love and thank you for everything.
