Clayton's Arts and Crafts is located on the east side of Des Moines, near the Iowa State Fair Grounds. Although Clayton's is always a busy little place, during the Iowa State Fair you'll hardly be able to find parking in their lot. It seems they flock to Clayton's on the August days.

Although Clayton's does not have a printed catalog, if you are interested just go to their website or give them a call.

Several things of interest may be Loran Oil Candy Flavoring, Jute, Macrame Supplies, Wilton Cake Supplies, Fairway Stamped goods, Cream Cheese Mint Molds and Aunt Martha's.

Ben Franklin Store
Main Street
Perry, Iowa 50220
515-755-4825

The Ben Franklin store in Perry, Iowa, about 25 minutes from Des Moines is worth your trip. Although Ben Franklin's isn't just a locally owned store, it truly has a small, home-town manner. It's filled from front to rear with most anything you would want or need and some you may not. This store has a multitude of fabric, ribbon and other accents which any sewer or quilter would love. You'll always find seasonal silk forals and other decorations for home decorating and crafting, along with some special and unique items. Their prices are great and the employees greet you with a friendly smile.

Perry is also a fun place to spend the day. This small Iowa town has a marvelous tea and lunch stop with a gift shop you won't believe. Visit the old and renewed Pattee Hotel and other local places of interest.
