Descends

Aleeta
As the raging dragon spews white hot lava from his snarling lips

The child within descends further into my sanctuary of darkness

Drawing closer to the heart of death, the child retreats from the raging hatred

Fiery tears of regret well up in her fearful eyes

If only she'd followed the strait path laid by those gone before

Instead she chose her own; knowing the end thereof was uncertain

The dragon seethes; thundering about, piercing the innocence hidden in folds of impurity

Inherent fear intrinsically woven into the fabric of wounded flesh

Each treacherous roar of the dragon kindles the spread of death;

Devouring her resolve to make it out alive, despair settling in as fate plays its hand

She's trapped now forever contained; confrontations prisoner captive by fear

Descending deeper, deeper into disconsolation that self-aversion affords.
