These quiet meanderings
are born of venom
that has seeped its way
deep into her soul.
Spoken words
no longer fulfill a purpose.
Time has run out
for the child inside
who longed for sunny days
laughing in the rain.
Her laughter has turned
to silence.
Her pain is a badge
that she wears proudly.
It doesn't even hurt anymore.
Some days she craves it
just as much as she once
craved the summertime.
