Descriptions and Prices for the 5 Greatest Magic Shows in Las Vegas

Rebecca White-Glanders
For many people, Las Vegas is a city that's all about magic. The lights, the infamy and the non-stop action all combine to make it an awesome place to go. Fittingly enough, Las Vegas is also home to regular magic shows by some of the best magicians in the world! Whether you're looking for well-known magicians with classic performances or new performers with a twist, Vegas delivers. Below are some of the best - and most interesting - magic shows to attend in Las Vegas.

Penn & Teller

This famous duo performs at The Rio Hotel & Casino. Their stage act is fun and unpredictable, with great magic and lots of audience participation. Many of their tricks appear dangerous, including needles, knives and guns. The lanky Penn narrates much of the show, while Teller provides much of the action. Tickets are slightly expensive and are general admission, running approximately $85.00 per person.

Steve Darci

Steve Darci is the greatest magician you have never heard of. A MERLIN award winner, Darci's skills are considered to be on the same level as Criss Angel, David Copperfield and the amazing Siegfried & Roy. His exclusive Vegas show is the tail end of a massive private dinner provided by Roland Levi of Six Tables Restaurant fame. Darci doesn't use elaborate props. There are no explosions, and you won't see him jump out of an airplane, but with a simple deck of cards he can prove to you why his show is one of the most expensive, sought-after and exclusive shows in the world. Seats for this dinner and entertainment start at no less than $300.00.

The Amazing Jonathan

The Amazing Jonathan has been touted for his wild and crazy performances by his friend and "nemesis" television show, Mindfreak. With the help of his assistant "Psychic Tanya", Amazing Jonathan puts on a show that is rude, crude, funny and completely out of control. While some may claim that he's more of a comedian than a magician, the point of both is to entertain, and the Amazing Jonathan does not disappoint. An average ticket for this show can run in the neighborhood of $65.00 per person.

Dick Arthur

A much cheaper show than most, Dick Arthur combines everything you think a magic show should be into one glamorous, special-effects driven night. From disappearing assistants to seemingly magical snow leopards, Dick Arthur has a veritable army of sexy assistants, over-the-top props and mysterious illusions. One crowd pleaser is his amazing helicopter illusion, where he makes a helicopter appear on stage from seemingly nothing. A fun night for all and at a reasonable price, plus this show is open to children as well as adults. Tickets for this venue begin at $22.00 per person.

Steve Wyrick

For a classic show that will make you believe in magic and the power of illusion, look no farther than Steve Wyrick. He starts his show by appearing with a full-sized helicopter, and then spends the rest of his stage time trying new and innovative ways to kill himself. Everything from walking through the spinning prop of a plane to the classic sawing a woman in half trick is attempted and pulled off effortlessly. For a fantastic night of illusion, tickets start at around $66.00.
