Desert Inn in Canton Ohio is a Syrian Food Surprise

Often out of the way small shabby looking food places can either be great or make you sick. But if you know about them from someone else then you know you will be ok. But everyone now and then a truly hidden dinning gem will turn up somewhere you least expect it. This is the case in Canton, Ohio at the Desert Inn. You might think that means that is serves desert but it is in fact a real Inn. It is the restaurant at the Inn that is good and you would not know it was there without being told or if you stayed in the Desert Inn.

The Desert Inn can be found at 300 12th Street North West, Canton, Ohio. Desert Inn does not look like a place to eat and you would have a hard time finding out about it on your own. Since the restaurant is in the Inn itself you probably have no idea what kind of food to expect from the Desert Inn. I will give you a hint the first part of the name has to do with the food.

The Desert Inn is probably the only Syrian food in Canton and possibly all of Ohio. To be honest while I have plenty of Middle Eastern food I do not think I have ever had Syrian or at least not known it was Syrian. Of course between Middle Eastern food there are differences but they are all pretty similar so you should know what to expect if you have had Middle Eastern food before.

One thing that seems to be possibly different is that the food is family style. I personally do not like eating family style but you do get lots of food. You do pay a little bit more because you are getting lots of food but it is moderately priced so not bad. Most hotel food is way overpriced but the food at the Desert Inn is reasonable.

Besides the good food and good prices the service at the Desert Inn in north Canton is amazing. The Desert Inn is owned and ran by the Shaneen family who has owned and operated the place for at least 20 years and they offer great hospitality. There is many good reasons this place has been in business for so many years.

If you want to try some good Syrian food in Canton then Desert Inn is the only place to go. Of course that is because there is no other Syrian food but it is really good food. Even if there was the Desert Inn would still be a great place to eat.
