FLOWERS:
First you will need to pick out your flowers for your blooming centerpiece. You could use fake flowers for this if you would like. If you use real flowers try to buy them the day of the wedding and reception, because they will not be in water to keep them alive.
You can use any type of flower that you would like and any color of flower that you would like for this elegant centerpiece.
GLASS VASE:
For your vase you will need a bell jar, display dome, or even a clear glass hurricane vase would work. You want to make sure it is clear, because you will want to see what's inside.
PLATE:
You will also need a silver or gold plate or glass cake stand as well.
MAKE YOUR BLOOMING CENTERPIECE:
First, you will need to cut all of the stems off of the flowers, clear up to the bud. Do not leave any stem hanging from the flowers. If you are using fake flowers, you can simply pull or cut the artificial stem off of them.
Next, place all of the flowers inside of the glass bell jar or hurricane vase. Make sure they are facing outwards as much as possible. You could use a small piece of styrofoam if you would like, to stick in the middle of the flowers, to hold the flowers in place better. Make it as snug as possible without squishing the flowers too much.
Finally, you will carefully flip the glass bell jar or hurricane vase over and place it on the plate or cake stand you are using. The open side will be facing down on top of the plate or cake stand. This gives a dramatic and modern, yet elegant and classy look for your blooming centerpiece.
If you would like you could tie some matching ribbon around the knob of the bell jar or hurricane vase or you could simply leave it plain. You could also add a little vine or greenery around the bottom of the plate or cake stand. But if you choose not to, this beautiful blooming flower centerpiece makes enough of a statement all by itself.
