If you're willing to risk an injury or two for a bargain, then mark your calendar for the annual sale stampede at Filene's Basement. With its first Florida store recently opening in Aventura, you no longer have to travel far to attend this legendary event; which promises shoppers designer gowns that would normally cost about $9,000 at deeply discounted prices ranging from $249 to $699. The 2009 "Running of the Brides" took place in January and next year's date is TBD. If you do plan to attend, just be sure the wedding date is far from the event... you'll need a few days to heal all the battle wounds.
