The CPSC issued the recall for pacifiers that were sold by Dara Linda's Baby Bling and Jewelry Design (Davie, Fla.), Bling Toes (Cherry Valley, Ill.), Baby Bling Things (Appleton, Wis.), PeaNaPod Bling and Accessories (Fort Wayne, Ind.), and MJM Crystal Designs (Boca Raton, Fla.), according to the CPSC.
Companies purchased pacifiers from retailers and then decorated them with the crystals before reselling them to consumers, according to the release from CPSC. Swarovski is not affiliated with the production or sale of these items as stated in the release.
Dara Linda's Baby Bling, sold Baby Bling Swarovski crystal pacifiers on Ebay.com and Etsy.com from June 2006 to March 2007 for $1 to $40, according to the release. The company also posted a statement on its web site that describes the pacifiers as "novelty items for display only" and states that "use of this service is entirely at customer's own risk."
In January and February 2007, Bling Toss sold the pacifiers on Etsy.com for approximately $35, according to its website and will provide a full refund, including shipping and handling. Additionally, Baby Bling Things and PeaNapod Bling and Accessories sold the pacifiers on Ebay.com and Etsy.com from July 2006 to March 2007 for $10 to $35. MJM Crystal Designs sold the Binkies by Bossman on Ebay.com from December 2006 to March 2007 for around $10.
In a May 2, 2006 article in First Coast News, Jennifer Fabbri said she started the company Bella's Baby Bling in 2006. Fabbri began adorning pacifiers and other baby products with crystals after watching a "Today Show" special about the growing popularity of "baby bling," according to the article.

Also, the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) and the Toro Company, a Bloomington, Minn. Company, issued a recall for approximately 900,000 electric blowers manufactured by Toro from 2000 to 2002.
The blowers have a faulty impeller, or rotator, that can break can cause pieces of plastic to fly out of the machine, according to the release from CPSC. Toro received 154 reports of broken impellers from consumers, which included 21 that stated people received minor cuts and bruises from broken pieces.
The Toro Power Sweep (Model number 51586) contains serial numbers between 000055100 and 220255609. Additionally, the blowers contain two decals, one that says "TORO Power Sweep" and another, on the opposite side that has the model and serial number. The blowers also have a black impeller fan, according to the release, which can be seen through a vent on the bottom of the blower.
The U.S. produced blowers were sold at several major retailers, including The Home Depot, Lowe's, Target, and K-Mart from January 2000 to December 2002. The product retailed for approximately $32.
