Designing Rappers: Upcoming Clothing Lines in 2008 by Lil Wayne, Kanye West, Young Jeezy, Lupe Fiasco & Juelz Santana

Mr. New Material
With the fashion industry changing everyday, more and more entertainers such as rappers are expanding their horizons to reach out and design clothes. While some lines are booming with sells, others have flopped worst than Flavor Flav's last CD. Listed below are the upcoming clothing lines from rappers for 2008. (Wear at your own risk)

Kanye West - Pastelle: Kanye West plans to drop his new clothing line for the year 2008 titled "Pastelle." If you like the look that Kanye displays when he's out and about or on stage, this line will be just for you. This line is sure to cater to those looking for the "Carlton Banks" look. Expect bright colors such as oranges, greens and highlighting reds, along with that "preppy" look and feel. The lines of shoes, also by Pastelle, are guaranteed to be soft colors with designer fabric.

Young Jeezy - Eight 732: Young Jeezy's line of clothing may sound strange to those that have no idea of what it means. Originally titiled "U.S.D.A.", Young Jeezy was forced to change the name due to the meat inspection squad. While sticking to his motto of "being the number one trapper", Jeezy found a way to switch things up. What to know what's funny? Look at the numbers 8-7-3-2 on the phone dial and see what letters are listed. Guaranteed you'll come up with the letters U.S.D.A.. Guess there are ways to work around copyrights if you really want something. Young Jeezy's clothing line can be found in stores as we speak!

Lil Wayne - Foreign Money (men) Double U (women): Lil Wayne, the self proclaimed "best rapper alive" plans to try his luck at clothing when he drops Foreign Money for men and Double U for women. Nobody has yet to see any garments relating to the line, however; weary eye brows have been raised in relation to the title of his women's line. Foreign Money, for men, has got the accepted head nod from top fashion designers as one of the hottest clothing lines to look out for in 2008.

Juelz Santana - RoyElz: Harlem based, Dipset rapper Juelz Santana, prep his upcoming line of clothes titled "RoyElz". Personally I think Juelz would've been better off coming out with his own brand of bandanas since he used to wear them all the time, but he's decided to go the clothing designer route. The street urban apparel is promised to cater to those that live life on the "grind".

Lupe Fiasco - Trillion and Truly: Lupe's line of clothes titled "Trillion and Truly" has the possibility of being one of the biggest trendsetters for the year of 2008. With previous outlets across the globe, Lupe will have the freedom to move garments from country to country like Japan and the U.K. His line will be directed to those on the outside of life all the way from grimey street thugs to suburban skate boarders. It remains to be seen if Lupe will truly shine like a "Superstar" in the year 2008.

The clothing probably isn't something I would buy, but thankyou for keeping us up on the upcoming lines.

Thanks for the heads up. I agree - a line of bandanas for Juelz would have seemed like the way to go. I do agree Lupe Fiasco could succeed in capturing a piece of the fashion world. Kanye should have went the sunglasses route, but I'm sure he'll produce an accessory (scarf maybe, etc) that attracts interest.

I had to smile at your "wear at your own risk" suggestion. Thanks for keeping me up to date on the latest fashion trends that I might see. I might even know the label now :)

Ha! Love the warning: "Wear at your own risk." I guess it is smart to capitalize on your celebrity status by launching a clothing line - especially when you're at the peak of stardom.
