Desire

Kitty Stevens
Desire, the logging and craving that
breeds a change in how he feels.
Watching her every gesture, he is enthralled.
Craving her touch, he longs for her presence.
This is love he thinks as he begins this quest.

She wants another though,
and somehow this leads to his pain.
Mysteriously, this thing that started with pleasure
has become for him, a form of torture.
He is in heaven and yet in hell.

She watches as he becomes
obsessed with her every move.
She feels pity for his pain.
Seeking to remedy this ache,
she leads him to a path that is not understood by her.

She longs to know why he is in this state of anger.
He wants to be with her but can not communicate the pain.
She asks him if he is alright.
He lies and says that all is well.
Clinging to his past, he raves about his lack of this thing called love.

She begins to learn how a lack of a mother played a part in this thing that he calls love.
He rants about how she is horrible and a whore.
He has begun the sink into a thing called hell.
Where he will remain if he doesn't seek help,
never realizing that was never love.

So much turmoil leaves no room for true love! This is very moving! :)

Love is often confused with other things... also, not everyone means the same thing when they use the word "love." Your meaning and intent are clear and very nicely expressed!
