Desitin Zinc Oxide Diaper Rash Ointment Creamy - Not My First Choice

What I Thought About Desitin Zinc Oxide Diaper Rash Ointment Creamy

Chey Conner
I have tried out eight different diaper creams on my baby boy.

The Diaper Creams I Have Tried in Alphabetical Order

Aveeno Baby Diaper Rash Cream
Burt's Bees Baby Bee, Diaper Ointment with Vitamin A and Vitamin E
Common Sense Baby Cream
Desitin Zinc Oxide Diaper Rash Ointment Creamy
Earth's Best Organic Diaper Relief Ointment
Johnson's No More Diaper Rash
Safeway Brand Diaper Relief Ointment
Weleda Diaper-Care

One of the diaper creams that I used on him was the Desitin Zinc Oxide Diaper Rash Ointment Creamy.

Nothing really special to say about the warning, pretty standard. Something that I have come to not ignore, but am not in search of finding one that says it is safe to swallow and all. However as always I continue to look at ingredients because I want to know exactly what it is that I am putting on my baby.

Desitin Zinc Oxide Diaper Rash Ointment Creamy Ingredients

Zinc oxide 10%, aloe barbadensis (leaf juice), cyclomethicone, dimethicone, fragrance, methylparaben, microcrystalline wax, mineral oil, propylparaben, purified water, sodium borate, sorbitan sesquioleate, vitamin E, white petrolatum, white wax

The ingredients don't really appeal to me, between the fragrance, mineral oil and petrolatum they are very disappointing.

Well Desitin diaper cream has been around forever I figured that it had to be good, partly because of the length of time that it has been around but also the popularity of it. However, I was surprised that this diaper cream, which package clearly stated #1 choice of pediatricians and mothers, wasn't as good as I had anticipated. There is no doubt that it worked, but didn't work fast, and frankly I would like to be able to use the absolute minimum amount of diaper cream on my baby. So if one diaper rash takes threes days to heal, compared to one day, it is a little frustrating.

My overall rating for Desitin Zinc Oxide Diaper Rash Ointment Creamy out of 4 stars would be:

Rating * * 1/2

The big question on everyone's mind is would I buy it again. It would be my fifth choice, along with two other diaper creams.

So it is established that Desitin Zinc Oxide Diaper Rash Ointment Creamy isn't the best diaper cream that I have used, review the series to find out which one isand which diaper creams are definite ones to avoid. Simply click on the author's name to see the other diaper cream reviews.

I was disapointed with them too. Considering that they are one of the more expensive brands, come with a fabulous repuation, and are heavily marketed.. I expected MUCH more out of them.
