Today I am in despair
for my ego there is no repair
I like to sing, write and act
but nobody wants me
and that's a fact
for my ego there is no repair
I like to sing, write and act
but nobody wants me
and that's a fact
I have never considered myself the best
and never thought I was above the rest
But given a chance I could succeed
I have the will if you have the need
I search all day for places to write
I sing everyday with all my might
I still pretend, so I can act
But nobody wants me
and that's a fact

Post a CommentSad and poignant but good. The poem also expresses hope, except for the last line - but alas, sometimes it can feel that way. You are wanted and never give up!
Smile =)
Don't despair. Even the best, most established writers say that they got enough rejection letters at first to paper an entire wall. It's just part of the process.
I understand that feeling. Hope you are doing better today.
Rejection can be painful to get over. However, the love of your art form should help you move forward.
Well, judging from the number of comments this gets, a lot of people want you, Vonnie! Keep writing (and singing, too)! :o)
Good poem! I liked it.
Sad...Can I help you smile? That's good poetry.
Well penned. Awesome poem.
Chin up ...tomorrow is a day just waiting to be good.
