Solemn tear-stains chart her face
Stockings spun of cheap black lace
Stiletto heels so out of place
Glazed eyes stalk within the alley
Baleful dregs at midnight rally
Darkness looms in Despair Valley
She ponders life, its cruel finale
Waiting on a cold park bench
She loathes her world, the fear, the stench
They call her the "old nickel wench"
A five-spot for the need she'll quench
Sex is what she sells with shame
A moth too near the candle flame
So trapped within this pointless game
Her spirit ebbs, profoundly maimed!
