Desperate Housewives the Video Game Hits Stores

Mike Street
ABC's hit show "Desperate Housewives" will go from the small screen to the computer screen with the release of PC based video game of the same name. You put on a dress and become the latest housewife to move on the Wisteria Lane block. This game combines the lifestyle play of The Sims with a mixture of mini games seen in Cooking Mama.

You'll be able to interact with the show favorites, including Bree, Lynette, Gabrielle, Edie and Susan. But just as you move into your new home you discover you were in a car accident 20 years ago and have been living with amnesia ever since. The goal of the game is to interact with the characters to unlock your dark past. And don't think that this game is just a rehash of episodes from the TV series. Scott Sanford Tobis, one of the TV series' writers, was hired to write the in-game script. "I want players to feel like they've found a bonus episode of the show," Tobis says. "In fact, it's more like eight separate TV episodes; I wrote about 13,000 lines of dialogue for this game."

The gameplay takes on the look of The Sims. You'll have to make your housewife into a fashionista by customizing your game characters look and wardrobe. But you can't be a fashion maven without some money. So in order to earn money you'll need to participate in mini-games and the weekly poker challenge. The more money you earn the more you can dress up your house and your wardrobe. But if you lose money you might want to sneak into your neighbor's house and swipe and item or two to sell.

So if you're a big fan of the hit show "Desperate Housewives" then you and your girlfriends will have a ton of fun with this game. So make sure you check it out as it hits stores on October 5th for $19.99.

Had no idea that anything like this is in the stores. What's next, Grey's Anatomy: The McDreamy Interactive?
