Despite Box Office Flop, Hitch is Still a Great and Funny Film to Watch

The film Hitch did not do well at all at the box office and after watching Hitch for the first time I really am at a loss of words to explain why it did so poorly with ticket sales. After watching the film, I thought that the plot was very original and entertaining and so were the actors and actresses. Will Smith plays the role of a love doctor and helps men gain the confidence they need to go up to the love of their lives and go on a date with them and find true love.

In the film, Will Smith has love troubles of his own as he is unable to secure a stable relationship with the woman he is in love with, Julie Ann Emery who is a journalist for a newspaper. She too is looking for true love but guards herself in relationships. Will Smith's job as a love doctor is helping guys and he really believes in true love even though his past relationships have not worked out.

Another main side story is that Will Smith works with actor Kevin James as he tries to get the love of his life, a woman named Allegra who is rich, gorgeous and famous. She is played by actress Eva Mendes. With the help of the love doctor Will Smith, James is able to get the courage he needs to go on a date with Allegra and make her fall in love with her. James who is not really an attractive drop dead gorgeous guy, is able to get advice from Will Smith on how to dress, dance and act around women.

The film shows Will Smith's charm and charisma at its best and he and Kevin James work really well together in the film. The film also depicts the troubles that Will Smith also has in his personal relationship as he finds true love in the journalist whom he has pursued.

Almost any guy or girl can relate to this film and the troubles of self confidence and being able to walk up to the woman or guy of your dreams and go out with them. This film is to show that anything is possible. As Will Smith says, "At any moment any guy can sweep a woman off her feet." This film seeks to prove that true in this romantic comedy film.

I found Hitch to be a very funny film and a very interesting storyline. I highly recommend this film despite its box office failure especially if you like romantic comedy films or Will Smith or Kevin James.
