Despite Political and Social Climate Progressives Soldier On

Snidely Whiplash
Sometimes I swear I am in a really bad dream. Let's peruse a few of the week's headlines and see if others agree that the political climate grows worse by the second.

President Obama is working 24/7 on unemployment...HIS OWN that is! 20 months before the 2012 election here he is on the campaign trail to make sure he doesn't lose his job. If ever one were deserving of being fired for job performance it is the community organizer playing dress up. Recent polling is consistent that at least 52% of his bosses...that's we citizens, do not approve of how he does his job, so he should lose it but politics is a bizarre world if ever one existed. It's Alice in Wonderland, Apocalypse Now and A Clockwork Orange all rolled into one neat little package of insanity. "The horror, the horror...."

House Minority Whip Steny Hoyer, Democrat from Maryland, says it will take us 2 decades or so to balance the budget. That's BS! What he means is it will take 2 decades for Democrats to find a way to get what they want all the while attempting to shut down any desires of the opposition party or citizens whenever they conflict with liberal political wishes. The budget could be balanced in 5 years with strong cuts made and built upon every year, but most Democrat shakers and movers don't seem overly concerned with their spending us into oblivion.

The Telegraph, a UK news rag, reports that Sarah Palin's parents "sleep with guns" due to constant death threats against them. My, how civil of the left! In one specific incident Palin's father offers "One guy from Pennsylvania sent us and other people copies of a gun he'd bought, copies of a receipt for a gun he bought, copies of a one-way ticket to Anchorage." He then added almost off hand "We kind of laugh it off, we got a restraining order on him, and lo and behold last week he showed up in Anchorage. Fortunately the FBI was on top of it and sent him home," so the threat was real. Hmmmm....

Gosh, I severely don't care for Pelosi but it never dawned on me to threaten to kill her kids. Am I behind the times? Civility? This is thuggery, just like the union protests. And we all know one can't even intimate that Obama needs to go...to do that somehow implies a threat of violence, how exactly I still don't know, but to a leftist that's what they pretend they hear. Could those that do that be any more hypocritical? Dishonest? Low life? Hardly.

We are clearly a nation at war with ourselves, or rather a nation that has a minority of people who so dislike our economy, society and political landscape they make war - or openly threaten to - on those of us more traditional folks who don't see the US as the model of flawed excess so many left heads seem to think exists. Our nation's dilemma grows as we head for a showdown. At the very least this will be exciting. Tighten down them chin straps...it's gonna be a bumpy ride...interesting, but bumpy.

I don't like Pelosi either, but never thought of doing anything to her

Well said. I can add nothing to it but that it's how people usually operate. When encountering someone who they don't agree with, people often resort to threats and ostracism. Remember the Dixie Chicks? They criticized Lord Bush. Poor Natalie Maines got death threats, too. Look how folks here on AC act when a piece they don't agree with is published. It's based upon a lack of understanding of individual borders. People with weak, broken, or non-existent personal borders of their own, mistakenly see others as within their own borders.
